Streetcars of St. Louis Series. Well before we moved out to St. Louis County, the streetcars had ceased to run. The 05 Creve Coeur line ran all the way out to Creve Coeur Lake along this section of old Midland. When we were growing up, we’d walk on the old track bed on our way to the grocery store or swim club. The nearby gravel road used to continue on to the remains of a concrete bridge where the tracks crossed a creek.
Check out the book “Streets & Streetcars of St. Louis” by Andrew D. Young. It is full of great pictures, including one of the concrete bridge remains.
Cache is now a key holder, hidden in the same way and place as the original container, in a recently developed area that we can only assume is a bike roundabout.
