history on this park, the only Geraldine that came to mind was
Geraldine Jones played by Flip Wilson.
Flip Wilson was born in 1933, one of
18 children. During the 1960’s he was a regular guest on The
Ed Sullivan Show, Laugh-In and The Tonight Show. In 1970 he had his
own show on NBC called The Flip Wilson Show.
Geraldine Jones was one of his most
popular characters who spoke frequently about her boyfriend named
Killer. Geraldine was flirty and flashy and devoted to her
boyfriend. This cross-dressing character coined the popular phrase,
“The Devil Made Me Do It”.
