T(ata) 4.5
If you are one of those cachers that is keeping an eye on your
statistics, you may notice that doing Terrain 4.5 caches is quite
hard - there aren't too many about unless you go into the
mountains.
If you need a T4.5 entry on your stats page, then this one is
for you.
CAUTION: You will be climbing
120 m ASL on an extremely poor and unmaintained track to the
public* summit. You will need both hands and feet
to negotiate some of the sections. Some sections have some gorse to
brush past. Some are slippery. A mistake can get you in serious
trouble. It is NOT recommended for kids or those of nervous
dispositions, as this is definitely NOT a safe place to go look for
a cache. You must use your own judgement as to whether you want to
take the risk inherent in clambering up a steep and at times
slippery track... This T4.5 you'll need to earn.
Once you get there, I don't want to make it too hard to find the
cache. Near GZ there is a bush. On the bush visitors have marked
their initials. The cache is on the ground, below, but slightly in
front of the "JS TS BS" inscription.
As this spot appears to be visited by the type of people that
carve their name into trees, can you PLEASE make sure the cache is
well covered when you leave - thank you.
If, like me, you decide to go check out the true summit,
you'll run into the following sign. The private land beyond the
sign has been included under QE II National Trust as Protected
Private Land under an Open Space covenant. To find out what that
means, and why you should respect it, visit the following web site
