Placed within sight of the entrance to Goosey Tyson’s Cave which T of the PITZ can remember from childhood. We advise not to attempt to enter the cave as it is very overgrown & the land above seems to have slipped. There is a story to be told if you Google Goosey Tyson’s Cave. The terrain is child friendly & only a short walk from the road end.
Parking for one car is available at N54.28.952 W003.28.243.
The cache container is a rectangular lock n lock box with a token gesture FTF & the usual kiddie swaps. Please don’t remove the little bag containing the pencil sharpener & rubber as these are to remain in the cache. There is room for small trackables & coins. It has been placed with kind permission from the Landowner so please respect his wishes keeping dogs on leads, close any gates after you & please don’t drop any litter.
If you stand up by the lone sandstone gatepost in the field you get some nice views all around you with very little noise.
This cache could be done before or after others within the same area...In Plane Sight, Friars Gill, Monks Bridge & Kinniside Stone Circle. The track towards this cache is not car friendly so we advise not to try. En route you will pass Mousegill Lime Kiln which sadly has been used as a dumping ground.
