This is a relatively short but moderate hike in SGL concluding high atop a hill. Cache is an ammo can. PLEASE re-hide well.
Park at the posted coordinates and then head up, up and away! Follow the path. It goes almost the whole way to the top but then you're on your own... I find it easiest to travel alongside the boulder "steps" that granted this cache its name- my kind of rock climbing. Note that no ACTUAL rock climbing is necessary. ;) Please wear orange during hunting seasons and be careful.
This cache is located close to home and was placed to bring more cachers to the area to see the views and explore great new areas. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous in the spring and fall; the cache might be a bit of hard work to get to in the winter.
Update: Per suggestion by our FTF, I've changed the terrain from 3.5 to 2.5. At some points in the year, it will be more like a 3.5 and you should be very careful, but during most of the major caching season it won't be nearly as bad. Total hike from parking to cache and back is only around a mile. Please note, though, that in half a mile your elevation will change around 240 feet.
Congrats, Cacheholic, for being FTF!
