Little Glenshee Ramble
This cache was placed to encourage an extra excursion to see the obelisk on the top of Craig Gibbon. It is a fascinating place but I do not know much about its history.
There are a number of routes here; suggested are from Little Glenshee or from Glen Garr. There are series of caches in both these walks to link up. You can bike in to the top from the Little Glenshee end but will have to leave the bike in Glen Garr if coming from that direction.
The terrain is rated coming from Glen Garr as this is a very steep but thankfully short 200m ascent. It is much easier on a good track but overall longer coming from the Little Glenshee end. If climbing up from Glen Garr, look for the lines of green going up the hill and try and head for them rather than fight through the deep heather.
It is possible to walk in from the road end at Glack or Upper Obney but please note that there is NO parking at all from here, so it means biking in or getting dropped off.
The cache is placed away from the obelisk but still in view at the eastern end of the hill.
Usual cautions about hillwalking equipment and readiness apply here due to its remoteness and height.
