Happy Flag Day

Photobucket

In honor of Flag Day, I am starting a Capture the Flag game. Broward County vs. Dade County. I have hidden 2 Travel Bugs (flags). 1 is in Dade County (Dade Flag) and 1 in Broward County (Broward Flag). Dade cachers need to capture the Broward County Flag and hide it in any cache in Dade County and Broward cachers need to find the Dade County Flag and hide it in a cache in Broward County. The goal is simple: capture the other team's flag, located at the team's "base", and bring it safely back to their own base.

The Rules:
Base is any cache in your county.
You can only capture a flag when your flag is safe in your county
Flag cannot be hidden in your own cache.
Flag cannot be hidden in a puzzle cache – I hate those and it’s my game.
Flag cannot be hidden greater than 4/3 difficulty/terrain (I want to keep it moving)
Flag can be captured by any cacher regardless of find status for that cache
Flag can be retrieved by any cacher regardless of find status for that cache
Flag can be hidden where player has previously logged a find.
Flag can be re hidden in a previously used cache as long as the above rules are followed.
Flag MUST be logged for each grab/drop

The Prizes:
Um – bragging rights

FAQ
Q: Can I capture a flag if the other county has our flag?
A: No! Your flag needs to be safe in your county before you can capture the opposing county's flag. Exception: If you have retrieved your flag on a cache run, you may capture the other flag and hide them both when you return to your county. Strategy tip: keep the 2 flags far aprt.

Q: Can I move my own flag even though it’s already in my county?
A: It is your flag – if you have a better cache to hide it in. Feel free.

Q: Can I move a flag that has already been captured and hidden?
A: Absolutely. If you are going to do a cache run, go get the flag (find status does not matter) and hide it in your favorite find of the day.

Q: Can I hide the flag in a cache it has already been hidden in?
A: The flag can be hidden in any cache and multiple times as long as; you have not found the cache you wish to hide it in, you are not the owner of the cache, d/t does not exceed 4/3, it is not a puzzle cache.

Q: How long do I have to log the TB?
A: If you capture/retrieve a flag, Please log and rehide as soon as possible.

Q: Can I take the Flag to an Event?
A: I think it would be great if you took the other county’s flag to their own event. Please make sure to log it and rehide after the event.

Q: Why did you make this game?
A: To motivate Broward cachers to hit up some unique Dade caches and vice-versa.

Q: Who do you think will win the bragging rights?
A: UMMM! I am a Broward cacher, so I will plead the 5th.
