Geocache Description:

To celebrate 100 years of Scouting, the Boy Scouts of American have teamed up with Geocaching.com to present ‘GET IN THE GAME”. Caches representing BSA and the Grand Teton Council are being stashed all over the Council, from Salmon to Malad, Jackson Hole to American Falls, and all points in between.

Each cache will represent a portion of Scouting’s past, present and future. 12 will mark the Scout Law and will be placed near Eagle Scout projects. 1 cache will be placed by each of the Council’s 5 Scout camps. Others will be placed representing Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity, Venturing and Alumni.

This cache represents TREASURE MOUNTAIN CAMP OF THE TETONS

The beauty of the Treasure Mountain Camp and surrounding area is unsurpassed. Nowhere else will you find such breath-taking scenery. This beautiful camp is located at the western base of the Grand Tetons, up the fiercely beautiful Teton Canyon approx. 9 miles east of Driggs, Idaho.
In the early morning and at night you can hear the faint roar of Medicine Falls as the glacial runoff creates a spectacular beautiful 200 foot waterfall.

Indian legend holds that the falls are sacred and that simply looking upon it every day brings you good luck, strength and helps build Honor in your heart. The camp is filled with great traditions and history.

Many of the scouts attending are 4th, 5th and 6th generation scouters who's fathers and father's fathers attended as boys.

Table Rock hike brings you within a stone's throw of the Grand Teton. Devil's Staircase hike is a winding hike to a high-grass meadow and lake. Mirror Lake hike takes you through the Alaska basin with several glacier-formed lakes that are ice-cold and crystal-clear.

Treasure Mountain has more to offer than hikes. The pure, clear lake offers plenty of activities, from swimming and canoeing, to the Battle of the Tetons. This patrol competition is the survival of the driest!

In this cache is a post card to enter into a drawing for one of the GET IN THE GAME Geo-Coins currently owned by the Grand Teton Council. Fill it out and send it in. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A SCOUT TO WIN! Coins will be awarded beginning June 1, 2010, while the supply lasts.

Camp t-shirt for the FTF.
