Geocache Description:

Walla Walla was established in 1869 after 8 German families travelled for 6 weeks from the Barossa Valley by covered wagons to take up land being allocated by the NSW Government. At that time South Australia farmland was in short supply and this region was offering tracts of fertile land very cheap. This modern village today even boasts its own college and now first cache.

Located within the first class building is an impressive display of an " original trek wagon " with artifacts and relics from the bygone era, plus all the history of the trek the 14 wagons took, together with a large display of wallmaps. The Hume and Hovell expedition also travelled through the area in 1824 noting its potential for grazing livestock.
The cache is a micro containing a log sheet and pencil.Stealth will be required as you can be approached from any direction.Take a short time out and admire the town's impressive work that has gone into this historic era.
