SQ - Clifton Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

The SQ in the cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, a project used by both the Northwest Ohio Geocachers and the Indiana Geocachers to distinguish those caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial gardens.

It is a good distinction to put on this type of cache and would like to see it used more here in Michigan. Please be respectful of the area, and observe their rules and posted hours, Michigan law states that you are only permitted to visit cemeteries dawn to dusk through out the state unless posted.

While out with Bloodhound doing a few area caches, I told Bloodhound about this old cemetery I had seen before. We checked our GPS and found no caches near by, and pulled a ready made cache from the back seat of the geomobile. We walked the grounds of this small graveyard and found most of the graves dating in the mid to late 1800's. We walked to the back of the tomb stones andinto a nice patch of woods. We both started looking for the perfect hiding spot. I found a good spot, and thought, maybe 2 1/2 to 3 stars. Bloodhound looked and and wasn't amused as he continued working on his plan. He placed the cache, and I thought, What was thinking... He wins, as I walked back to the car with my tail between my legs.

The cache is a small container, maybe 1 quart in size with a log book, and some trade items, and our sig cards.

There is a neighbor living across the road who seems a bit nosey, but as we found out he is a very nice guy. He was a bit concerned seeing Bloodhound, but when he saw me was ok with us there. His concern was kids causing trouble back there which I easily convinced him we meant no harm.

Please be respectful there and I do not see any problem.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting

Please place cache exactly as you found it. Thank You
