Geocache Description:

This is the first in a series of geocaches that will highlight historical landmarks and interesting places in Goleta.

This geocache is located near the Stow House and South Coast Railroad Museum. The Stow House is a U.S. historical landmark that is now the headquarters of the Goleta Historical Society which preserves and interprets the history of the Goleta Valley. The Stow House is located next to Lake Los Carneros and the South Coast Railroad Museum. The South Coast Railroad Museum was founded in 1983 as a showpiece for Goleta Depot, a Southern Pacific Railroad train station building. With more than a dozen geocaches, Lake Carneros is a geocacher's paradise.

The cache is a plastic cylinder that contains a log and some nice swag. BYOP. Please replace the container exactly as found.

Don't forget to visit the Stow House and take a ride on the "Goleta Short Line" miniature train.
