Geocache Description:

Formerly known as Iwo Jima, the island has been renamed in 2007 to be pronounced Iōtō. The way of writing in Japanese has not changed - 硫黄島 – Sulfur Island.

The island is 1,250 km south of Tokyo and falls under the jurisdiction of the Tokyo metropolitan government as part of the Ogasawara island chain. It is therefore the most distant cache within the Tokyo Prefecture.

I have listed the GPS coordinates as N24° 46.724 E 141°19.539, but may be closer to N 24° 46.724 E 141° 19.544

In any case, the cache is hidden under some rocks on the south-east corner of the structure. It is a clear double-Rubbermaid with only a log-book and a pen.

Please hide better than you found it so it will not be discovered by non-cachers.
