I walk this loop quite often and thought it would be a great place for a cache. There are several ways to reach this location and your visit can be everything from a cache and dash to a 1/2 mile stroll in along the Sandy Lick Creek. (1 mile round trip)
This Cache is a 30MM ammo box filled with a lot of SWAG for both kids and adults. I included a gold dollar for FTF and there is a camera you can use to take a snap shot of your find and after I get it processed I will post the photos.
If you would like to experience the walk along the creek you can park at the back field at the Little League complex. The parking area for this is at:
N 41° 05.474'
W 078° 53.492'
This is not a hard walk and you can take the kids in this way. There are geese and ducks down by the water and you can always see rabbits and squirrels.
If you're short on time you can take a little distance off the walk by turning left onto Industrial Drive past the little league fields and following it to the end. You can then follow the path from there to the cache.
If your looking for a cache and dash you can follow South 5th St. through the industrial park to the end of the street. The cache is only .11 mile in from the turn around.
Note: There is construction going on by this turn around so you need to be on the lookout for dump trucks.
Update(5/5/11) - The construction on this end is done and the turn around is no longer at the end of this road. A new road was constructed and loops around the new Sinergy building. If you can park along the road before reaching the new building, you can walk in from here. This is also a nice loop for bike riding so you can always park down by Mike's Bilo and ride back to the cache from there.
If you have extra time you can always bring your fishing pole!
