I've had to relocate this cache right at the huge boulder that marks an ancient Indian trail that skirted the forest along the Des Plaines River, through groves of wild plum and hazel thickets.
Eastward the tall grass of the prairie stretched as far as the eye could reach. Later it served as a road for the early settlers in the long months when the flooded prairies were impassable.
Forest Home Cemetery is open from 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday and from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Sunday. This entire southeast section of the cemetery is hard to get around in by car because of limited road access. You might want to hike to this cache once the cemetery roads seem to be leading you away from it's location.
The office is open Monday through Saturday if you'd like to stop in and pick up a "Points of Interest" sheet and map. Lots of history is in this cemetery.
The cache is a small blue plastic pill bottle. Bring a pencil with you.
Congrats, jj77 on being FTF.
