TK03 Wiltshire Persona – Over to Poulshot Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Tek_kaz: After looking around for a suitable hiding spot to re-locate this cache I have come to the conclusion that there isn't really any another location that I would want people to go searching in without getting spiked, stung or scratched to death. So with this in mind I regrettably ARCHIVE this cache and many thanks to all the brave cachers in the past that have located this one.

Happy Geocaching. [:)]

Geocache Description:

This is my first little series of caches linking views of the Wiltshire countryside as a theme for a well known web browser’s Persona system. All of the caches in this series have been placed as near as possible to where the persona image was taken and each cache has a copy of the appropriate persona image and web address if you wish to persona your web browser with it.

All of these caches can be reached by public footpaths so there will be no need to climb any fences, only stiles.

*** THE CACHE THAT BITES BACK ***
( as known by geocachers during the summer months )

I have given this cache high difficulty and terrain settings mainly for the summer months as the paths to this cache are not heavily used and can get quite overgrown. So don’t be tempted to wear shorts and tee-shirt for this cache in the summer months.

** NOTICE ** For those with an OS map which shows the footpath reaching Whistley road further down – this access point has long since grown over and so is now just a hedge.

Some fields that you will be crossing occasionally contain livestock so please be aware if you have doggy geocachers with you.

Roadside parking is available at N 51° 20.713 W 1° 59.967 with about a 1.19 mile walk to this cache.

You are looking for a sample tube container within a camouflaged bag. You may have to watch out for thistles and nettles. The camouflaged bag also contains a self-seal poly bag ready to receive geocoins or small travellers. Please hang this cache back securely where you found it so that it does not drop down and get lost.

You will need to climb over a stile to reach this cache at N 51° 20.222 W 2° 1.195.

Unfortunately the approach to this cache is not suitable for buggies or wheelchair users as you have to climb stiles and it can get very overgrown and muddy.

Why not pick up a few caches from the ‘A Series for Your Pleasure’ (GC296MG) by stanthews or another of my caches ‘TK02 Wiltshire Persona – The Old Park’ (GC2A49Q) while making your way to this cache.

Good luck to you all.
