Geocache Description:

You are looking for an ammo can!

It is placed at Smart Storage with permission from the owner. Who is a Patch crazy guy himself named Chris Jensen he is going to be watching over this cache and helping keep it stocked with "Spoof" patch trading merit badges.

Please if you take a patch take only ONE!

As friends and myself are going to try and keep it stocked.

Got Patches is an understatement for me (mopar73mopar) i have been collecting patches for many years as it is a hobby associated with Boy Scouts usually.

Patches come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. There are Lodge Flaps, Council Strip Patches, Rank, Insiginia, Red and White Community Strips, Camp pathces, Jamboree Strip Patches.

I am going to hit on the ones i know and collect and some i don't collect but know too; being an Eagle Scout class of 1989 and a Vigil Honor member of Muscogee Lodge #221 class of 1992 for any other thread head Scouters out there.

The first type is usually insignia or rank badges they can range from Tiger Cub up to the coveted Eagle rank.

Then most are introduced to Merit Badges which are small round badges the size of a quarter and are earned for different activities such as first aid, swimming, rowing, and now the new geocaching merit badge is available!

Some scouts are elected into the Order of the Arrow and this is where the majority of serious patch collectors are. They like to collect Lodge Flaps and then they can broaden their collections from there to include activites and section Lodges as well. Most Arrowmen as they are known are collectors of their home lodges issues or patches.

This year is the 100 Anniversary of Scouting in the U.S. so many people are chasing 100 Anniversary CSP's. also National Jamboree is this year too and others will be chasing out JSP's. National even went to the trouble[ ;)] to create special 100 Anniversary insignia for this year.

I could go into way more detail but wanted to give folks an idea of what a hobby it could and can be to others.

It has been my main hobby for close to 30 years!

Sometimes the cache will have real genuine scouting patches and sometimes it will have Chris's Spoofs or a mix.

If you happen to see Chris be sure to thank him for allowing this cache on his property and if you are a Scouter be forewarned if you mention you are as he is a talker.
