Geocache Description:

Small camouflaged 170ml round snap container, with room for small TBs.

If accessing from the Tenby lay by and you have dogs, keep them on the lead as there are dogs at the house at the bottom of the track, and the foot path passes through their drive way

Have realised that this can be done as a cache and dash but the whole walk is well worth it. Continuing along the trail this cache can be accessed from about four different directions. and is to the side of the railway embankment. There is an old ruinous folly not far away. and dependant on how you get here you will have either discovered the 'stepping stones' or are yet to do so. There is the definite possibility of getting wet!!!! Foot wear choice may be critical especially after rain.

The foot path from Tenby Lay By is in really good condition as between the house and the rail bridge they have cleared all the under growth and poured new gravel down.

The Pembroke and Tenby railway company aspiration to extended their line towards Whitland is detailed in the 1864 act of parliament. The line was built to the Stevenson gauge of 4ft 8 1/2 Inches not the Brunel gauge of 7ft. The work progressed from Tenby Aug 1864 and by Aug 1866 the rails had reached Narberth and the line was ready for inspection by Col Rich.
Tenby now had a new station which overlooked the old terminus below it in what is now the Sulterns car park, this station closed becoming known as Tenby Lower Yard. The contractors Davis and Roberts had agreed to build the extension for £200,000 with a further agreement to continue working with the P&T for five years, paying a dividend of 5% on profits.
