Geocache Description:

This is a magnetic nano placed on the boundary of Newark's Beaumond Gardens. It has been placed on our Copper Anniversary within sight of Newark's Registry Office where we were married 7 years ago.

Newark has always been a special place for us and we would recommend a visit by every one.
From the Castle to the market place, the pretty Palace Theatre to the various Sconce around the town - also check out the cannon-ball hole in the church's spire - great!

Beaumond Gardens is well worth a visit with the Millennium Arch, Civil War Statue and Newark's wonderful library - a great place to sit, relax and have something to eat on a hot, summers day!

There is now even a cinema next to the park, which our daughter assures us is very good.

These ornamental gardens were formerly part of the estates of the Dukes of Newcastle and were acquired by the District Council in 1934.
In 1974 the Beaumond Cross, a medieval monument dating back to the 14th century, was moved into the gardens.
As well as ornamental planting the gardens also contain a bowling green, pavilion and seating.

ENJOY!!!

Congratulations to stevrac for being FTF !!
