Caching for cash. It's been a terrific success the last two years so we're doing it again. It's a great opportunity for geocachers new and old to test their skills, bid for prizes and meet each other. Wrapping up the day is a free barbeque!
There are a series of temporary geocaches hidden around the park, each with bundles of geobucks (OK, play money) stashed in them. With the clock running find as many as you can, grab the bucks while competing against other geocachers. Use the geobucks to bid for prizes, courtesy of the Irving Nature Park, at an auction.
For the beginners, there will be a short “Introduction to Geocaching” presentation to help get you started. Teams will register before being given the cache coordinates and heading out on the hunt.
All interested parties are asked to meet at the shelter above the information kiosk.
The “Introduction to Geocaching” presentation starts at 2:00 p.m. The “Geocaching for Geobucks” competition will begin around 2:30 p.m. The auction will follow the competition and wrapping up the day will be a free barbeque.
Once again there is a way to earn bonus geobucks. If you have a digital camera or camcorder … bring it!
Young and old, experienced and beginners join us for an afternoon of friendly geocaching with a twist.
Do it alone or do it as a team, just do it!
