This cache is one of a series of caches placed on the Raquette
Lake - South Inlet. This cache series was designed as a water
access only cache series (canoes/kayaks). This entire series can be
completed in a 1/2 day trip. To complete the series, Its about a 2
mile (each way) very leisure paddle, with no current. If your into
birding, there are many birds here. We heard more than we saw, and
we brought no binos with us. The birds we were lucky enough to see
where 1.) Hooded Mergansers, 2.) Loons, 3.) Great Blue Heron, 4.)
Mallards, and 5.) Red Wing Black Birds. In addition, we seen some
deer and some sign of Moose browsing off the arrowheads in the
water.
The cache is a small camo size container and at the time of its
placement was accessible via your watercraft at the edge of the
water.
This cache was set following the DEC guidlines Part 190: Use Of State
Lands.
