Snakes on a Plain - CARL2 Traditional Cache
4 the Fun of It: This cache is MIA. It has been here for 10 years - time flies! The sign that inspired the cache has been gone for a number of years now and so I think it is time to archive this cache.

The coulees of southwest Lethbridge are home to a population of prairie rattlesnakes (Crotalus viridis) estimated at 50 adults. The two parks in this area, Pavan and Cottonwood, are prime habitat for these snakes.
Direct habitat loss and increased road mortality are cited in the City of Lethbridge Rattlesnake Brochure as being perhaps the two greatest problems facing the remaining population of rattlesnakes. To help preserve the prairie rattlesnake, don't disturb the rattlesnales or their dens; slow down on roads in this area; and report sitings to the Helen Schuler Nature Centre (403.320.3064).
