-Denihike's BioMagnification Challenge-
The serries is seven caches placed along the
Yana Trail. This Third one is a bit more of a hike, and may be at least a simi-evil camo job. Please be careful to replace it just as you find it, it fits into it's environment kinda like a jig saw puzzle piece.
On the inside of the lids, of the first six caches, there are numbers. The numbers are printed on little colored price stickers. Sometimes there is only one color, sometimes there are two. In order to complete the serries, and beat the challenge, you must write down the numbers, and the colors, to find the last cache in the serries!!!!

While it is possible for BioMaginification to start on land, (a grasshopper eats a sprayed plant, then a bird eats the grasshopper), most of it begins when toxic substances are washed into the water by rain. In Northern California, there is extensive mercury contamination. While some of this comes from gold mining opperations that used mercury, most of it comes from actual mercury mining opperations where the murcury was being extracted. They have found by examining mud deposits on the bottom of Clear Lake, that a major increase in murcury contamination happens in 1927, when mercury mining switched to machinery driven pit style mining.
