DM is at it again. Went for a waterfall hike back in February, this cache was placed in April however. I had to go back to replace the ammo box I had placed earlier.
Went for a hike after parking at the Rock Creek Recreation Area. Noticed this trail (FS# 148 Rock Creek Falls) so I had to go explore. The trail starts at N 36° 08.310 W 82° 20.952 Gradual slope to begin with and gets steeper as you get closer. Sign at start says 2.5 mile hike one way. Waterfall isn't visible until you get within 100'.
Great hike, about 2.5 miles from trail head.
Elevation at Falls is 3263 approx.
DM went on another hike to a waterfall. It was about 35 degrees, but had snowed the day before. Yup, another adventure. This one will take you to a secluded quiet place where the creek literally falls over a rock wall. Those of you into geology, there are also plenty of rocks and formations here to discover.
Please place cache back, covered and leave no trace.
CITO is always a great idea, especially in this remote secluded area. Bring a trash bag and pack out any trash you see.
Please do not leave water bottles or insect repellent bottles in the cache. They leak and damage the contents. Also, please do not leave any food products or anything that smells like food (i.e. fruit scented items). Animals will find and destroy the cache if you do. Thanks.
