Geocache Description:

"Tanka" is a genre of classical Japanese poetry.

Chidori-zuka mound is located in Midori-ku, Nagoya-shi.
The monument on the mound was put up in winter 1687 in commemoration of the completion of a poety book by Matsuo Basho.
It is the only monument dedicated to Basho which was built in his life time, and the letter engraved to the monument is Basho's handwritten letters.
"Chidori" of name "Chidori-zuka" of this mound means a plover in Japanese, and the name comes from that Basho wrote this bird in the tanka poem. Also "zuka(tsuka)" means a mound.

Sannou-yama with this Chidori-tsuka mound was the hill which can look down the sea in the times when this monument was built. There is the rest station which a view has good in the place that you climbed a little from this mound. And even now, can look around Hoshizaki that Basho wrote in tanka poem.

千鳥塚は、名古屋市緑区の千句塚公園にあります。
この塚に建っている石碑は、1687年の冬、松尾芭蕉が、鳴海の寺島安信宅での歌仙「星崎の闇を見よとや啼く千鳥」の巻(星崎の巻)の完成を記念して建てたもので、芭蕉の存命中に建てられた唯一の句碑です。また、その碑文は、芭蕉自筆の文字を刻んだ物です。

千句塚公園のある山王山は、かつては、海を見下す高台でした。この塚の先を少し登ると見晴らしの良い休憩所があり、現在でも、芭蕉の句に詠まれた星崎の辺りを見渡す事が出来ます。

キャッシュは、この千鳥塚の近くに隠されています。
