What is Cache to Eagle? Cache to Eagle is a series of 12 public geocaches hidden at or near the sites of Boy Scout Eagle projects. Each council can organize their own Cache to Eagle program, with each cache location covering one of the 12 points of the Boy Scout Law (in random order). Once a scout has found all 12 of the caches and can relate each point of the scout law to a cache, e-mail the answer to the starter of the series at scoutmaster81@verizon.net to receive a Cache to Eagle Patch.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouting. In addition to earning 21 merit badges, being an active and loyal member of his troop and participating in many hours of service work, the scout must demonstrate leadership in planning and bringing to completion a project that will benefit his community, school, church, etc. One thing his project can not do is benefit the BSA.

This cache was placed in honor of several Eagle Scout projects from scouts of the Yankee Clipper Council (now Spirit of Adventure Council). The scouts are from Troop 70, 74, 75, 77, and 212 of Chelmsford, as well Troop 30 of Billerica. The Eagle projects are as follows (in random order): Community Garden Tool Shed; Ramp to the Accessible Community Garden; Cedar Grape Arbor, Cedar Bike Rack; Re-Establishment of the Old Farm Access Road; Tree Nursery; Fencing w/ Benches; Kiosk; Story Book Walking Trail; Green House; Irrigation System for Plant Nursery; Community Garden Plot Markers; French Drainage System; Equipment Lean-To and Lumber Storage Shed.

2 projects were worthy of the Glenn and Melinda Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project Awards: 2011: W. Warren: New Park w/ Circular Stone Garden;
2017: T. Fleming: Solar Powered Computerized Water Pumping System for the Community Gardens.

In conjunction w/ the Eagle Scouts, dedication of FF Richard T. St. Onge Accessible Community Garden took place June 19, 2010. St. Onge, a good friend of the Lewis Family from Westford died Dec. 1970 while fighting a barn fire on the property.

A Princeton Elm Sapling was also planted and dedicated to Ralph Hickey for his service to the disabled community and making the town more accessible. The elm is located at the SE corner of the lawn area near the watering trough to replace a diseased elm at the same location.
