Geocache Description:

As you leave 'bridge over troubled water'' take the LEFT side of the reservior, its not boggy on that side.

Walverden Reservior was planned in 1850 to supply water to the nearby town of Nelson. It is now an excellent walking area, with course fishing and birdwatching. There are a variety of different cache containers, and some you will never have seen before.
Part way round the walk you will come into the small hamlet of Southfield, with its chapel and its history. Take a while here to absorb all the information that will be given and maybe have a cuppa in the tearooms(you can even eat your own sandwiches) If Pat or Celia are about they take you on a tour of the Chapel and tell you some stories from time gone by.In 1771 John Wesley, founder of the Methodist movement is know to have preached here in this very Chapel. A leaflet is available with all the colourfull history.
Hope you enjoy the walk and please state in your log if you did. If I get a lot of possitive feed back I may do another similar one soon. Thanks
