Who is Jack Horan, and why does he have a park? He was the first member of the Legislative Assembly to represent the Edmonton Jasper Place district. He ran for the Social Credit caucus and beat out 3 other candidates.
That's about it as far as I know (see I do know Jack.) What I know about the park is that it also serves as a storm overflow pond and has been known to fill the lower section after heavy rain storms. The same bowl also provides great toboggan hills for the kids in the winter. One third of the park's sides have been naturalized and are home to a very cute family of Hungarian Partridges who have had several batches of babies in the years that we have lived here.
The park is closed to the public between 11 pm and 5 am, because of some transient folks that used to camp out there.
