Geocache Description:

Hello and welcome to our summer 2010 Cacheing Event East Yorkshire. The event will be held on Saturday 14th August 2010 from 12:00pm until 3:00pm. The event will be held at The Red Lion, Public House in Driffield.

The Red Lion is a friendly family run pub in the centre of Driffield, an old Market town in the East Riding of Yorkshire close to seaside resorts; Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington, and also close to the City of Hull. The Red Lion is in the centre of the town, so only a short walking distance from the train station and bus stop. Trains and buses run frequently.

It is a friendly pub where children are welcome. The pub serves food from 10:00am until 2:30pm. The pub serves a lovely Sunday lunch, so if you are in the area the following day, you must stay for lunch, but do make sure that you book in advance. There is also bed and breakfast available if required from £30 a night. Please contact the pub prior to book if this is required: 01377 255907 or redliondriffield@live.co.uk

57 Middle Street North,
Driffield,
YO25 6SS

There is a private car park to the rear of the pub, and plenty of off street car parking if that is full.

We hope to have a great day picking up the local caches. There are many caches in the local area, and new caches will be put out specifically for the event. There are several local puzzle caches (ie suduko etc) which will need to be worked out prior to the event.

This event is open to all, from young to old, from anywhere in the world. There will be a raffle with lots of trackable items and different caches available to win, along with the usual wine, chocolates etc to be won. There will be plenty of time to chat with fellow Geochachers, put faces to the names that keep popping up in the log books, time to talk over some of the caches that have you stumped, and to chat about those caches that you have loved and hated. Make sure that you bring along any trackable items that you have to swap with fellow Cachers or for others to discover.

There will be some activities for the kids such as a treasure hunt, quiz, etc to keep your little ones entertained.

Any money made will go to McMillan Cancer care in memory of Vicki Walton a loved local girl that passed away early this year aged only 27.

Please ensure that you contact us with any ideas that you have for the event to make the Summer Cacheing Event East Yorkshire an event to remember!

Please log your intention to attend, stating whether you will require food (and for how many) so the landlord will know how many to cater for.

We will post more details of the day's events as they become available, please put this event on your watch list.
