A magnetic nano under the fence by the run-off from Cowdenknowes Reservoir to Town Reservoir, in Greenock.
Unfortunately I can't find anything as to why the reservoirs are here. I'm assuming it's a similar story, and at a similar time, to why the Coves Reservoirs were constructed (see Coves Reservoirs cache for information).
Comprising of two reservoirs, the upper being Cowdenknowes Reservoir and the lower being Town Reservoir, this area is know by several names: Murdieston Park, Murdieston Dams or Town Dams. I'm not a native to these parts, and have named the cache site as how I've heard it be called most, Murdieston Dams. The area is kept tidy by Inverclyde Council and I believe alot of time and effort has gone into maintenance over very recent years to make it what it is. There is a model boat club on Town Reservoir, and pike and perch fishing on the both.
There are signs all around the reservoirs stating that they are deep - they are, and the underwater gradients can be steep. Best keep the kids and dogs on a short reign!
Now to the cache... be careful not to drop it, you'll not be able to get it back.
