Khartoum Lake is located in the Sunshine Coast Forest district and is one of 8 lakes that make up the Powell Forest Canoe Route. The gravel roads leading to the lake serve active logging in the area. There are rules and regulations for using these roads for recreation and the searcher should be aware of them before heading to the lake.
The road is marked, but it would be prudent to take along a good back-road map. The road is very dusty with many pot holes and washboard. An off road vehicle isn't required, but a sturdy utility vehicle would make the drive more enjoyable.
The cache is located at the base of an alder at the location given. It was placed during a Father's Day Camping Trip that has been held for 16 consecutive years. This lake has been the lake of choice for 4 or 5 years.
