You are now standing close to the former site of Churchfields High School. Churchfields was the borough's first comprehensive secondary school and was opened in 1955. Due to dwindling numbers the school was closed on 30th August 2001 and was flattened to make way for a Housing development in which construction started early 2010.
The new site has been named Churchfields Place and will consist of 132 new homes, with some overlooking Dartmouth Golf Course.
This cache is located on a public bridleway and is well suited to its surroundings. There is only a log in the container, so please bring your own pen. The closest parking areas are All Saints Church or the Newton Road Layby (sometimes there is a snack van here).
This bridleway eventually leads through to Vale Street. To return to Cache #1 you will need to enter Temple Meadows Road at the end of the path (and bare right). When you reach the end of Temple Meadows Road turn left into Dagger Lane. If you began this series at Sots Hole then you will soon be back where you started.
