Treasures of Frankfort #1 Frankfort, Michigan, my summer home for over 60 years, has many unique places to visit and to enjoy. Along the shores of Lake Michigan, Frankfort has long been a favorite vacation place for many people. A lovely small town with a big heart welcoming visitors from far and wide, a perfect place for a sojourn of a few days or forever. Unique shops, historic homes, a sailing harbor, charter fishing marinas, lighthouses, are many of the places to linger and enjoy. As the Gateway to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, Frankfort has sandy beaches, pristine waters, and incredible sunsets, everything needed by the discriminating traveler. Lovely home tours, art and autumn festivals, a weekly farmers’ market, and during the winter, a special “Shiver By the River” for winter sports enthusiasts, all add to the mosaic of life in Frankfort. Treasure #1 of Frankfort is where a small medicine bottle is hidden for geocachers to find. Then partake refreshments at the unique treasure established in 1962. From opening day in the Spring to early Fall this business is a beehive of activity serving the community all these years. Permission was given by the owner to place this cache.
