Geocache Description:

A simple film canister hide... maybe. To make matters worse, it's hidden in plain sight - please do not destroy any rock walls or the like... please look, but don't touch, until you find it.

I am guessing the address that was there was 902 Ferry St. You see Ferry St. used to run straight up to Wall St before angling over to meet Congress Street. Wall St.? Yeah, there used to be a block above 8th Street that was in-between Ferry St. and Congress St. (which was technically parallel but just below where 9th St. would have been had 9th St. ever gone through RPI campus and the Society of the Sisters of St. Joseph campus (whose most prominent feature today is the EMPAC building). Anyway, right there at the old bend of Ferry Street, across from Wall St., is a remnant of the sidewalk that once carried people up the hill towards Prospect Park. It's in rather bad shape today, so do be gentle and please look, but don't touch, until you find it. I absolutely hate stone wall caches for the very reason that it takes forever to find and the wall is done damage in the meanwhile by smiley-obsessed geocachers. As such, I have in fact hidden the cache in plain sight. Please do not misconstrue this. You will not find a film-canister-like container just sitting out in the open. But you will be able (I hope) to discover it's hiding spot using only your eyes. Keep in mind, it is difficulty 3.5 for that reason. Also, the terrain 3.5 is not only a comment on how steep the hillside can be if you come down from above, but a caution: there are places in the area that have loose rocks, broken glass, rusty jagged metal, and even a secret entrance into the mines of Moria. Okay, maybe not that last one. Anyway, take your time, learn your surroundings, step carefully, and then starting looking for the cache. Although you are assuming the risks of geocaching, I'd still like to have anyone trying the cache to have a positive experience as well as their health in tact.
