Geocache Description:

Another quick and easy. PLEASE NOTE-THIS AREA IS POSTED AND I HAVE ENSURED THE OWNER, WHO LIVES ACROSS THE ROAD, GEOCACHERS WILL RESPECT THE SIGN.

This cache is one of 19 included in “The second Annual Grant County Fair Event Challenge” GC2AAA6 which is scheduled for August 25-28, 2010. For those cachers unable to attend either informational gathering , a challenge work sheet can be secured at N44:24.996,W118:57.274.

The buildings before you are known as the Izee school and grange. For many years this area was the hub of the ranching community and many people still living in the county attended the Izee school. The Grange was the center of social life and I wonder what stories could be told about the good ole days or parties, dances and big social events.

The Izee school is in Grant School District #3 and students, upon completion of lower grades at Izee had the option of busing into John Day to attend Grant Union High School or going to the Paulina School.

Nearby these building you will see the Izee cemetery which is the final resting place for many of Izee settlers.

You are looking for a rubbermaid container which is easy to find. Remember the POSTED sign! The Cache is easily found without trespassing.
