Electric Road is named for the establishment of a power plant back in the early 1900s which brought life to a piece of reclaimed land along North Point. But now the neighborhood of Tin Hau crackles with a different energy, that of a local neighborhood that still retains its charm. Just a ten minute walk through Victoria Park and you arrive in a different universe from the madly busy Causeway Bay.
What draws many visitors to Tin Hau is the food. Many options abound, and most are in the low- to medium-budget range. While they won't hurt your wallet, they don't skimp on the quality. Good luck finding your favorite! Various Chinese cuisines are on offer, as well as a smattering of other Asian and Western cuisines. But no visit to Tin Hau would be complete without a stop at one of the two famous dessert stores. (There's another less well-known but just as desirable bakery serving Western treats, but it's off of main road. Hint: look through the tennis shops.)
If you're lucky you can find a seat at the sitting out area before you walk down the road to explore your food options. The cache is in the sitting out area. But it's usually quite busy, so beware of muggles! I suggest you come before 4pm, and steer clear on Sundays. Bring a pen because it is a nanocache.
