The cache is a small lock and lock on a small hill in the alpine surrounded by ridges and peaks just waiting to be explored. The road to the trail head is in good shape except for some deep water bars on Downton Br 2 road, meaning you will need a fairly high clearance 4WD vehicle to get to the trail head. Excellent trail into Holly Lake with an easy scramble up a draw to the cache area.
The hike to the cache from the trail head is about 3.5 km and took a couple of hrs taking lots of pictures and sightseeing. Downton Creek Rd from Hwy 99 is Just over 14 km and takes a little over 1 hr. A beautiful area to explore for anyone is decent shape and a high clearance vehicle. Dress for any weather and terrain and remember this is wilderness and bear country so take the proper precautions and enjoy this beautiful part of the province.
