Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache. If the owner would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

Treacherous Trail

Part of a series of themed caches that provide some (but not all) clues to a quest on the Big Island, since concluded.

Pololu Valley is a garden spot in paradise, with a black sand beach, challenging surf (at the right times of year) and picturesque cliffs. The only catch is the trail leading down: a mostly unimproved steeply inclined dirt (or mud after a rain) ramp with tree roots to trip hikers and steep drop-offs along the downward side. Parking at the top can also be limited; come early in the day. Don't let this discourage you, though, as the scenery and adventures at the bottom more than make up for the trip. Oh, but you have to hike UP those 500ft too!

Fortunately, the cache is placed only a short distance down the trail, so you don't have to go the whole way. Container is a cammo-ammo with some interesting interior markings, containing a logbook and FTF prize (a copy of Vegas Die! by S.P. Grogan).

Remember, nothing is quite as it seems and clues could be anywhere.

As of 20-Feb-2014 the quest contest has ended, with the prize unclaimed.

Small note on cache maintenance: There is a local cache guardian who will assist.
Name and contact info on file with geocaching.com.

Congratulations to wholagal on getting the FTF!
