Geocache Description:


Trees of Alabama Series: Winged Sumac - (Rhus copallina Anacardiaceae). Deciduous small tree or shrub found commonly in all regions of Alabama. The cache container is a small tupperware box. The fruits are eaten by birds and are very tart in taste. Has distinct dark green compound leaves with as many as 23 leaflets and wing-like leafy projections on the rachis. There is a picture of a Winged Sumac and it's leaves on the cache log. Please return cache as found.
