This is our first time putting out a hidden cache. Our Boy Scout Troop just finished a week of summer camp at Gerber Scout Reservation. We drove right past Owasippe Scout Reservation on our way here.
Both camps have their own GPS courses, but you have to be a registered scout at camp to uses their private course. We were a little disapointed that there were no public access caches in this area. Therefore, when we passed the perfect spot between the two camps we just had to try our hand at putting out a cache.
The location is not difficult, it is just designed to be a quick grab before or after scout camp. Or a great place for any past, present, of future scouts to visit.
I have uploded pictures of what we placed inside our cache. Since it is the 100th anniversary of scouting, we placed a lot of patches from both cub scouts and boy scouts. Some old, some new, some used. There is even a new cub scout shirt and a 22 year old life scout shirt inside. Of course traditonal trading material is welcome but we would encourage you to trade your old or unwanted scout patches or scout memorabilia. Since we are from out of council, anything from the Gerald R. Ford Council would be greatly welcomed.
We plan to leave this cache inplace for one year. Next year when we come back to summer camp, we will be very anxious to see what was left inside!!!!

If the cache container lid won’t lock down, the lid is not on straight. Please realign and try again. (this is the only way it will stay waterproof) Also, please bring your own pen since a scout is always prepared.
