Geocache Description:

Take a scenic drive north of Chelan to Washington Butte. The Forest Service road is excellent for even a small car. From the parking area (see Parking coordinates below), its only a short 1/4 mile hike with 200 foot elevation gain to the site of a FS lookout. The 40 foot pole lookout tower with L-4 style cab was built by the Forest Service in 1936. It was removed in 1952 but the tell-tell concrete footings which supported and anchored the tower still remain.

There are many roads in the area but after driving back to town, I checked the navigation on my PN-40 and it routed the correct roads to the parking destination. Just in case there is a question, from the Chelan-Manson hiway, take Boyd Road north to Cooper Mountain road. Take the right fork on to FS road 8021 (cabin rental area) and a left fork at Washington Creek road.

Congratulations to bigolbullelk and Padre69 on FTF!
