Geocache Description:

The first of what I hope will be a small series of caches in the green spaces in the Abbey Ward of Gloucester. I spent many summer days here as a child, playing football on the small patch of greenery.

'Summerfield' is not the official name of the open space, but it is what we named it as children.

The Abbey area is fairly large and includes Abbeydale and Abbeymead. The pre fix 'Abbey' was chosen because of the proximity to the Benedictine Abbey of Prinknash, which is just up the road, and was settled on after the local evening paper 'The Citizen' ran a competition to find the most suitable name for this new part of Gloucester.

Stealth may be required, as it is near a well used footpath and road. Getting to the cache should be easy for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

The cache is a clear lunchbox, big enough for small swaps and TBs. The original micro cache contained water when I eventually found it, so I have replaced it with a slightly larger version for 2011.

Original contents:

Pencil
Log Book
Green Team Badge
Small Eraser
Button
Kram Kuras TB (On its way to Indonesia)

It is not uncommon to find litter in the area on the Summerfield, so please remember to Cache In Trash Out!
