This intersection is where the Timber
Mtn Road connects to BLM Road 37-3-21.1
which connects to the upper end of Galls Creek
Road. We discovered a cool loop that could be done from
Galls Creek Road to the Left Fork Foots Creek Road thanks to this
intersection. You do have to be extremely careful of dirt bikes and
OHVs because this all connects to the Timber Mountain OHV area as
well, so they have the right to be on the same roads as
vehicles.
If you have not found the
Rogue/Applegate Valley View Cache that has
been hidden since 2002, here is your chance! At this intersection
go UP the road about 1.5 miles to a good place to stop (and turn
around). Then you have to walk about 300' to the cache. The view at
the cache is not the greatest, but the views on the drive up are
worth the trip! It is pretty rocky in places, but we did it in our
4x4 Expedition.
At this intersection you are looking for a
small plastic container with a couple trade items and a log. Please
rehide it well so muggles don't see it as they are speeding by.
There is no where to park, but on the road. You can turn around
with a little work. Galls Creek, Timber Mtn and Foots Creek roads
are pretty rough, gravel, rocky and potholes. But, hey - they are
mountain roads!
