This cache is located at an old wayside rest area outside of the gates. The local authorities have told me that while you cannot drive into the parking lot and use the amenities the caretaker still mows the paths and that you can still hike around the area.
Grand Mound was never developed by the parks division ans was subsequently transferred to the Minnesota Historical Society.
This cache was placed to fulfill a Minnesota Marvels requirement.
