Geocache Description:

This cache is located just inside the boundary of Franklin Mountains State Park (FMSP). The Google Earth map has not been updated and does not show the correct park boundary. The new State Park boundary comes all the way down to the fence line now.

To get to the cache you’ll need to go to the nearby Chuck Heinrich Park at the end of Jon Cunningham Blvd. in North Hills. Once you get to Chuck Heinrich Park hike up onto the concrete dam on the western side of park. Head south along the top of the dam until you come to an opening in the fence. This opening is the entrance to FMSP on the north-east side of the mountain. Just inside the entrance, to the right, there will be a green self pay station, next to the wooden sign. Lift the lid of the green box and you should find registration envelopes. Please make sure to register and put the $4.00 park entrance fee into the envelope before you drop it into the pay box. The entrance fee is for anyone 13 years and older, 12 and under are free.

Hope this is a fun find for you. Keep an eye out for muggles. Bring your own pen!

Original contents: nickel, fish, toy binoculars, Navy PO3 pin, button.
