This is cache is hidden near the Lower Bonnington Dam. Just
below this spot is a tall rock pillar with the water spilling over
the dam, and water coming through the turbines, swirling around
it's base.
Please respect the large warning sign -- stay away from the
water. The shore near the dam is not safe due to large, unexpected
water level fluctuations.
Parking is by the side of Blewett road in a large pull-out.
As you pass the big warning sign you'll see a ravine on your
left. Watch for a faint trail leading down into the ravine. In the
forest the trail is somewhat better. As you emerge from the forest
near the river, you'll see the dam on your right. Follow the trail
up and to the left onto a small plateau. Gather in the views then
narrow down your search.
Much of this area is in the spray zone during late spring and
early summer high water flows. Wet rocks and plants can be very
slippery. Be careful.
Another warning. One of the most common plants near the cache
looks like poison ivy. It probably is.
And remember, stay away from the water.
