Geocache Description:

This cache is located by Hwy 9 and hwy 24 intersection. Forks of the Wabash. Small hike... (or even ride your bike)...!

The area around the trail is the location of the Wabash Canal. Part of the trail itself is the original tow path that mules and horses used to pull the canal boats up and down the canal. Just think of all the people that have traveled this same route 160 years before. You should park in the parking lot at the museum. N40° 52.690 W085° 32.098 A trail starts just West of the entrance, next to the last building. 1/4 mile West down this trail all within the Wabash canal lock Note: You might find the museum closed, but you should still be able to walk the trails. This was my first geocache and my favorite. I feel that this is what geocaching should be,... a interesting area that you might never think to go to normally, and a nice cache to hide treasure to keep kids interested. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do. This cache was actually hidden long before the trail was paved. It is almost as if they made a paved trail to my cache... Zig8
