Geocache Description:

Park at "Witches' Bridge" in Norton and enjoy a paddle down Wading River

After exploring Barrows Pond to place our Gary Rocks Cache GC2BEDR we decided to check out Wading River on the other side of Witches' Bridge. Although this river is relatively short and fairly close to civilization, we were stunned by the amount of nature we encountered on our trip to place this cache.

In an hour or two, we encountered a group of 3 heron, a family of ducks, blackbirds, many smaller birds actually hopping across the lilies on the water, fish, a snapper, painted turtles, frogs, an amazingly huge spider, hundreds if not thousands of dragonflies and I'm sure more critters that I'm just not thinking of at the moment! The hyacinths are in full bloom this time of year and are just gorgeous. God's creation was on full display today on Wading River!

Met a snapper along the way...

And a cool spider! (poor thing lost a leg)

The photo does not do these hyacinths justice
