The Lost Treasure of Pirate Henry Every

Located on John E. Clabom Island, 1 of 29 Moses Lake city parks.

Legend has it that the famous pirate Henry Every after retiring as the worlds riches pirate in 1696 headed west to a nice quiet lake called "Salty Lake" in the area of Houaph he lived peacefully with his very young Sinkiuse bride, who turns out was Chief Moses great great Grandmother. After the great war John E. Calbom a famous archaeologist and treasure hunter moved to Salty Lake now renamed Moses Lake and spent the rest of his life searching for the lost treasure of Henry Every. In 1995 John Calbom mysteriously disappeared, some say that he was obsessed with the lost treasure of Henry Every and died looking for the treasure. Others say that the ghost of Henry Every will murder any one who dares to disturb his plunder! I never believed any of these stories as a kid, I just thought that they were camp fire stories, made up to frighten young kids when camping. That all changed after discovering a old painting at a garage sale

Fireworks!!

on the back of the above painting in John Calboms hand writing was the letters "H.E." I think that "H.E." stands for Henry Every and the painting is a painting of his lost treasure! So now that we have proof that Henry Every last known location was around Moses Lake, were could the treasure be hidden? I spent almost 13 years trying to figure that out along with all the other treasure hunters, fortune seekers, and geocachers in Moses Lake. The final clue came after I discovered a geocache at the library #GC1WF7Z, I saw a map on the library wall of all the city parks in Moses Lake. On the map the 13th park listed was called "John E. Clabom Island Park" Thats it!!! The missing location has got to be lucky 13, the island park! I asked the old librarian if she knew any thing about this park, and she said she had lived in Moses lake all her life and that Island was donated by Clabom family after John Clabom mysteriously disappeared. She said don't go out to that island its haunted! The librarian said that John E. Clabom bought the Island in 1951 and was often seen on the island digging. It's often said that if you go to the island you will see "Signs" of John E. Clabom to this day.

So are you up to doing a little treasure hunting? Do you have what it takes to fight of a long dead Pirate Ghost that is protecting his plunder? Will you discover the "Signs" of John E. Clabom? This is your last warning this cache is not for the faint at heart, you must come well prepared a life jacket is a must, a schooner with 40 canons would be helpful too!

When you see the Jolly Roger flying over the island, that's your last chance to turn around and flee before stepping foot on a real Pirate island!

Fireworks!!

So keeping with the Geocache tradition this cache is set up to swap out foreign coins, this is your chance to get rid of all your foreign coins or swap foreign coins for different foreign coins.

Good Luck and Have Fun!
