The start of the cache hunt is from Bowden Bridge Quarry. Parking N 53 22.757 W 001 55.701.
It was from here on April 24th 1932 that the mass trespass onto Kinder took place.
As you proceed along the road towards Kinder Reservoir you will pass Taters Trespass GC1E429 and Kinder Sheepwash GC1E43C. As you approach the reservoir you can bag another of our caches GC1R0JQ Lance and Toffee's Cache not far off the path.
Back on the main path continue alongside the Kinder Reservoir until you reach a bridge where you take the right hand path not far above the reservoir, heading South at first and then East and you are on your way to the cache GCQP0H at Mermaids Pool, situated on a small plateau above Peter Nook Wood and not far below Kinder Downfall.
The legend relating to the pool goes like this. Every Easter Sunday you must visit the pool to be sure of everlasting life, but only if, as you sit by the pool, a mermaid rises from the water and comes over to sit next to you!
If that does not happen, perhaps you will see a mountain hare or even a Ring Ousel.
If you follow this hunt from start to finish you may therefore accumulate a bag of twelve caches on a wonderful walk. From the pool it is a steep but short climb onto the Kinder Plateau, where there are even more caches!
