WCW = Whangaparaoa Coastal Walk
We have created this series to show you this part of the Peninsula; if you do them in order (1
to 5 (this one)) the views get better and better.
You could drive from one to the next, but we would recommend walking. Driving won't be much quicker and the exercise will do you good!
Some climbing required, but anyone with an average level of fitness should be fine, and the views at the end will be worth the effort.
This fifth and final stop brings you to a small reserve at the end of Ardern Avenue. We hope you enjoy the view as much as we do. Don't forget your camera!
The information panel will help you name all 10 islands in front of you. Can you spot Pudding Island? You may need binoculars for that one!
You are looking for a small (250ml) sistema-style container. The reserve is very open with houses directly overlooking it on two sides, so please watch out for nosy muggles. Take a seat, enjoy the view, walk to the fence... ooops, look at that, my shoelace's undone!
